Range of Likely Tracks
The forecast path shown above is the Bureau's best estimate of the cyclone's future movement and intensity. There is always some uncertainty associated with tropical cyclone forecasting and the grey zone indicates the range of likely tracks.
Due to the uncertainty in the future movement, the indicated winds will almost certainly extend to regions outside the rings on this map. The extent of the warning & watch zones reflects this.
Remarks:
The low is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf within the next 6-12 hours. GALES are expected to develop between Port Keats in the NT and Kalumburu in WA overnight.
Tides will be HIGHER THAN NORMAL between Port Keats and Kalumburu tonight and Friday.
Widespread heavy rainfall is likely over the southern Darwin-Daly district, the northern Victoria River district, and northern parts of the Kimberley over the next 3 days. Significant stream rises and local flooding are expected in these areas on Friday, extending westwards to the north Kimberley over the weekend.
